In order to reduce contamination due to human contact, robots are used in Wuhan hospital to sterilise all equipment. To prevent human interference, as they enter a room, they give the warning to make everyone leave the room. Hydrogen peroxide is released as well as shining UV light to kill all the germs inside the room and on the equipment. The robot is able to map its own route through the hospital and build a map of its journey so it knows where to go next time. When the battery is getting low, it returns to its charging dock on its own.
Italy is also using the robot strategy and their robot is called Tommy the robot.

Tommy can check vitals for patients without direct contact from nurses. Since it’s a robot, it doesn’t need to wear protective clothing like masks and overalls which means fewer resources are used. It also allows doctors to see their patient’s temperature, heart rate and even the patient themself remotely.
